Description lsuarezpotts 2003-07-22 01:35:22 UTC
Hi, I created PT project a while ago. The owner has now updated the cvs files but the project is not
rendering them. Rather, the "default content" message is displayed.

A version of this problem beset the SC instantiation earlier this year or late last year. It was
resolved. however it seems to be back. There is a PCN history; look under 'br' (similar problems).
I'll look also.

Comment 4 Unknown 2003-07-22 22:34:17 UTC
Update: Engineering has requested that we have operations delete this
project.
Action Plan: Reassigning this issue to vd, the Project Owner, to
request permission to delete the project.
There are a few files, documents and one issue. Let us know if there
is anything that we would need to back up for you.
Please reassign this issue to support with response.
Thanks,
Kristen

Comment 5 vd 2003-07-23 10:37:00 UTC
What would happen to the mailing lists ? Do i need to backup the
subscribers ?

If not, you can delete the project.

thanks,
VD

*** Issue 16330 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
Comment 7 lsuarezpotts 2003-07-23 17:18:07 UTC
to clarify Vitor's statement: Unless the lists can be backed up, do not delete the
project.

Vitor. The only way we may be able to save the project is by paradoxically deleting it
to recreate it. We will try to save the mailing list archives.

Comment 8 vd 2003-07-23 17:26:51 UTC
Please try to save the list members also.
If not, i'll try to get every subscribed email by editing the ml.
Comment 9 Unknown 2003-07-23 17:52:07 UTC
Update: Looking into preserving the mailing lists and their
subscribers with Engineering.
Next Update: By end of day today.
Thanks,
Kristen
Comment 10 Unknown 2003-07-23 19:25:01 UTC
Update: I've documented the mailing list subscriber information and
will attach it after this edit.
Submitted request to have operations delete the pt project tomorrow
after backing up the mailing list archives.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Kristen

Comment 12 vd 2003-07-23 19:39:15 UTC
Can the project members be saved to ?

I sugest that the backup should be done near the delete, because
someone could be sending some email or joining the mailing list meanwhile.
Comment 13 Unknown 2003-07-23 22:22:00 UTC
Update: I have a list of the projects members as well as screen shots
of the project edit page and the mailing list edit pages for each
mailing list so I can check to make sure that they are set up
correctly. I'll attach the MemberList.
Vitor, you may want to send a message to the announce list letting
people know that the project will be deleted and recreated tomorrow.
You may also want to remove the checkmark to use the index.html page
and post an owner's message so that users understand if the project
is unavailable.
Thanks,
Kristen

Kristen,

I've warned the users yesterday.

After the last mailing list backup, the project can be deleted.

Comment 16 Unknown 2003-07-25 00:57:41 UTC
Hi Vitor,
Engineering was able to correct the problem without deleting the
project after operations found that the line referencing this project
was missing from the file that takes care of the updates.
Engineering was able to checkin a change to index.html and it appears
on the home page "fixed!!".
Thanks,
Kristen
Comment 17 vd 2003-07-28 12:55:15 UTC
The fix doesnt work.

I've created one new directory "/html" and it can read the files i've
commit.

Comment 18 Unknown 2003-07-28 13:21:48 UTC
I will ensure Kristen gets this as soon as she arrives (which should
be about 4 hours from now). There's not much we can do until she gets
in as that is when her engineering contacts will be available as well.
Comment 19 Unknown 2003-07-28 17:55:42 UTC
Vitor,
Could you clarify the problem that you are now seeing? The subject of
this issue was that checkins to www/index.html were not being
reflected on the project home page. I see that "Bem vindo ao projecto
Português do OpenOffice.org OOoPT" is appearing on the project
homepage and that that was checked in on "Mon Jul 28 11:44:15 2003
UTC". I also looked at
http://pt.openoffice.org/source/browse/pt/www/html/
and see numerous files in this directory.
Thanks,
Kristen
Comment 20 vd 2003-07-28 18:01:57 UTC
Sure.

The problem is that the "www/html" can not be used.

"Not Found
The requested URL
/local-access-only/pt/www/html/acerca-dicionario.html was not found on
this server.

Apache/1.3.26 Server at localhost Port 80"

And, as you can see is there.
I sugest that you create some directory and put there one file, and
try to use it via web.
Comment 21 vd 2003-07-28 18:06:36 UTC
reassign to support
Comment 22 Unknown 2003-07-28 20:17:27 UTC
Update: Tested the links from the project home page, "Downloads" for
example, and they return a page not found error.
Added the project home page, html folder and the downloads file to
our test project and they worked fine.
Action Plan: Updated the internal issue with testing results and
assigned to operations for investigation.
Next Update: By end of day tomorow.
Thanks,
Kristen
Comment 23 Unknown 2003-07-29 23:22:18 UTC
Update: The links from the pt project are working now.
Engineering ran a cvs commit for these files which caused them to
publish correctly.
This should not have been a problem after the missing line for the
project was added.
Reassigning to vd. If there are any other problems with files for this
project, please let us know the file name and any errors that appear
during the commit.
Thanks,
Kristen

Comment 24 stx123 2003-07-29 23:26:38 UTC
Hi Kristen,
could you mark issues as fixed before reassigning, if you think they
are fixed.
Thanks, Stefan
Comment 25 Unknown 2003-07-29 23:37:49 UTC
In this case, I'd like to confirm with Vitor first that other files
publish correctly as he makes edits.
In general, I will mark the issue Resolved, Fixed if I think it's
taken care of and let the submitter mark it Closed.
Thanks,
Kristen :)
Comment 26 lsuarezpotts 2003-07-30 17:30:16 UTC
Kristen,
I'd like also to see about trying out other projects that I have put on hold, such as br;
it had similar problems.

I will let kristen know this as soon as she arrives. We could not
help as the engineers will be avilable only after 4 to 5 hours from
now.

Thanks,
Priya.

Comment 30 Unknown 2003-08-01 00:37:24 UTC
Vitor,
It looks like your local cvs co is out of sync.
Could you try deleting it and doing a completely new checkout?
We're still looking into the root cause of the original issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kristen

worked.

Sorry for bothering you with this generated notification message. There is no
